Choose a Flutter app development company on evidence: apps they have actually shipped that you can open on your phone, a clear process with working builds each sprint, backend skills as well as app skills, and a written agreement that the code and store accounts belong to you. Price matters, but a cheap quote for a vague scope is usually the most expensive choice.
This is the checklist we would use if we were buying. We build Flutter apps ourselves, so we also say where we would be checked.
What to check
| Check | What good looks like |
|---|---|
| Shipped apps | Live apps on Google Play and the App Store you can install and use |
| Flutter experience | They can explain state management, navigation and how they structure a project |
| Backend skills | They can build the APIs, database and admin panel, not only the screens |
| Process | A prototype first, then short sprints with a working build each time |
| Ownership | Code, data and store accounts are in your name |
| Communication | A named contact, regular demos and a shared progress board |
| Support | A plan for OS updates and fixes after launch |
Questions to ask
- Can I install one of your apps on my phone today?
- Who will work on my project, and will the same people stay on it?
- Does your quote include the backend and admin panel?
- How do you handle changes in scope, and what does a change cost?
- Whose name will the Play Store and App Store accounts be in?
- What happens after launch when a new Android or iOS version breaks something?
Red flags
- No live apps to show, or only screenshots.
- A fixed quote given without asking what the app must do.
- No mention of testing or of the backend.
- Reluctance to put ownership of code and accounts in writing.
- A promise of unusually fast delivery for a large scope.
Going local or remote
Many Indian companies work well with clients across the country and abroad over video calls. Being in the same city helps for workshops, but process and communication matter more than location. Our wider advice is in how to outsource software development to India.
